Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, an independent licensee of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, is a local not-for profit health insurance company headquartered in Phoenix. | Individual Under-65 Customers |
In a recent study of individual under-65 customers – those who pay for their health insurance directly and do not receive it through an employer – 94 percent said they were satisfied with the service provided by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (BCBSAZ). The most frequently mentioned reasons for satisfaction included excellent customer service, easy access to medical care (including easy access to physicians, specialists, hospitals, and pharmacies), and prompt and accurate claims processing.
BCBSAZ also received strong ratings from customers for:
- Ease of enrolling in the health plan
- Timely receipt of ID cards, and
- Coverage “you can depend on.”
Ninety-five percent of those surveyed said they were likely to renew their membership with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona.

| Medicare Supplement Customers |

In a survey of Medicare supplement customers, 97 percent reported satisfaction with BCBSAZ. Reasons for satisfaction included excellent customer service, prompt and accurate claims payment, and a large selection of doctors.
BCBSAZ also received strong ratings for “operating with integrity,” “being a brand name you can trust,” “being convenient and easy to do business with,” and for providing “easy access to medical care.”

In a recent telephone satisfaction study of group customers — those who get their health insurance through an employer — 93 percent reported they were satisfied with the service provided by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona.
When asked to evaluate the service provided by BCBSAZ, more than nine of 10 group customers gave an “outstanding” or “good” rating for convenience of filling a prescription, timely and accurate ID cards, easy access to hospitals, easy access to physicians, ease of enrolling or renewing, being a brand name you can trust, and providing coverage you can depend on.

In a recent survey of group benefits administrators (GBAs), 94 percent reported satisfaction with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona. The most frequently mentioned reasons for satisfaction included general good service, friendly and caring employees, prompt service, prompt claims payment, and good benefits and coverage.
BCBSAZ also received strong ratings from GBAs for timely and accurate enrollment of employees, offering a good choice of physicians and hospitals, timely and accurate claims payments, convenience, and easy access to care.
