That’s why we’ve reduced
Medicare supplement premiums
for 2007. BlueValue rates
are 24 percent lower and
standard Medicare supplement
rates have been reduced by 9
percent. BlueValue* rates
are now 36 percent lower
than comparable BCBSAZ
standard Medicare supplement
rates.
 With
new lower rates plus the
early enrollment discount*
of 25 percent for new
enrollees age 65 to 65½,
BCBSAZ Medicare supplement
plans are a very competitive
option for Medicare-eligible
clients age 65 and older.
* BlueValue rates are
available when a
customer is able to meet
certain health criteria as
specified on the application
or if they meet certain
guaranteed-issue
requirements. New customers
enrolling no later than the
first 6 months after their
65th birthday are
eligible for an early
enrollment discount. The 25
percent initial rate
discount applies to the
BlueValue rate of the plan
selected. The discount is
reduced by 5 percent
annually, over the next 5
years of continuous
enrollment and is tied to
the initial date of
eligibility. The change in
discount occurs in the next
month’s bill after the
customer’s birthday.
